Assessments

Assessments are a mix of continued observation and examination.  The process enables us to identify critical areas requiring extra attention and reinforce the strengths of each student.  Feedback is thorough and ongoing via individual tutorial classes.  The aim is to achieve the highest possible standards by each student.

Performing Experience

At the end of each academic year, the college stages a show that runs over several nights giving the students a valuable and realistic experience of working in the professional theatre. All students are encouraged to see shows, performances, companies and attend theatre trips.

Pastoral Care

We provide exceptional pastoral care to our students through constant contact with each individual and an ‘open door’ policy where they are able to discuss any personal or artistic concerns with experienced members of staff.

For those students who live away from home, we can recommend a range of options of which the opportunity to live with a family is most popular.  Often this is the family of past college members who understand the students’ dietary and emotional needs.  For others a recommended list of letting agents is available to provide individual and shared student accommodation.

Due to the physical demands on the life of a dancer we ensure that the students are educated in strain and damage limitation techniques.
This allied with the accessibility of a specialist physiotherapist enables the student to treat any injury that might occur.
