Every member of staff at Liberatus has the highest possible teaching and performance experience, ensuring that the students live in an atmosphere of professional stimulation at all times.  This maintains the necessary standards to continue the extraordinary success achieved in obtaining placements, bursaries and scholarships at the end of their time with us.

Staff retention has been remarkable and all staff are engaged in professional work at a national and international level.  This feeds into the learning process and has a positive influence upon course development and the quality of training.

 

VOYD Principal

Voyd trained at The Arts Educational School in Tring.  At the age of 16 she graduated and began work in London with Arlene Phillips.  Voyd has had a long and close working relationship with Arlene, working on many projects with her both as a dancer and as her assistant.

In the early part of her career, Voyd worked on numerous music videos with such artists as; The Pet Shop Boys, Duran Duran, Uriah Heap, Cliff Richard and Dépêche Mode.  TV projects include working with Ken Russell, Martin Sheen and Clarke Peters.  Film and cabaret also played a part in her career, appearing in films such as Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life, Give My Regards to Broadstreet with Paul McCartney, and performing in Arlene Phillip’s iconic dance group Hot Gossip.

Theatre has always played a large role in Voyd’s life, appearing in Masquerade at The Young Vic and A Clockwork Orange with The Royal Shakespeare Company.  She was offered a part in the original production of Starlight Express working again with Arlene and of course Andrew Lloyd Webber and Trevor Nunn.  Voyd went on to play all the female leads as well as assisting Arlene in recreating the production in Germany, Japan and Las Vegas.

On film and TV Voyd has worked with many choreographers including, Jeff Richer, Anthony Van Laast, Flick Colby (Top of the Pops), Chrissie Cartwright, Molly Molloy, adverts (Pepsi and Fiat), and of course West End Theatre. 

Since beginning teaching Voyd has taught in many prestigious schools including: London Studio Centre, Bodywork, Tring Park, Elmhurst Ballet School, Pineapple Dance Studios, and Danceworks.  Voyd has also taught master classes in Europe and was invited by the Brazilian Government to work with under privileged children in Brazil.  She has been an integral part of the course in Swindon for 17 years and under her direction the college continues to flourish, inspiring many dancers of the future.

 

LISA ALDRIDGE ARAD FISTD Major Examiner

Lisa began her training at Elmhurst Ballet School at the age of 11.  On graduating she joined The Ballet Company of Innsbruck, Austria.  When the company became more contemporary based Lisa decided to follow her passion for teaching and returned to the UK.  She quickly established herself as an exceptional young teacher and consequently was awarded the prestigious Imperial Classical Ballet’s Mavdor Award. 

Having qualified in both Imperial and Cecchetti Classical Ballet, Lisa decided to broaden her teaching experience in Europe.  In 1998 she returned to the UK and joined The Swindon College Foundation Course as Classical Ballet lecturer.  Lisa’s teaching skills have been employed by some of the most notable professional dance establishments, including Italia Conti, Laine Theatre Arts and Elmhurst Ballet School.  The experience lead to her appointment as Head of Ballet at The Centre where her work continued with many of her past students now performing in companies across the world.

Lisa was appointed as an examiner by the ISTD for their examinations in Classical Ballet.  As a result Lisa has been invited to teach at The Imperial Ballet Awards, The Imperial Ballet Junior Awards and on many courses and summer schools. 

Lisa now occupies the position of Vice Principal of the college as well as Head of Ballet.  Lisa is happy to be working alongside Voyd again.  The college now benefits from Lisa’s experience as well as her technical and motivational skills to develop its students to an extremely high standard.
